Musa Yawari
Director - Writer - Video Journalist
Based in Sydney and Islamabad
I'm Musa, a passionate storyteller with film degrees from NCA, Lahore, and the University of Sydney. I'm fuelled by a deep passion for crafting narratives that captivate, inform, and delight audiences. My journey includes six enriching years as a Senior Video Journalist at the BBC, where I immersed myself in diverse documentary projects. I didn't just tell stories; I trained and inspired my colleagues as a BBC Trainer, sharing the secrets of creative storytelling and editing.

Beyond journalism, my love for storytelling led me to scriptwriting. I penned two feature screenplays—one during my time at The University of Texas at Austin as an exchange student, and another as a fellow at Qalambaaz, Pakistan's pioneering scriptwriting lab.

My quest for learning took me further into the world of filmmaking through a fellowship at Goethe Institut, delving deep into the art of creative documentary under the guidance of the renowned German filmmaker Till Passow.

Recently, I embarked on a year-long photo documentary fellowship with the "Pakistan Photo Festival," channeling my passion into a project called "Tracing Gems of Hope."
Currently, I split my time between Sydney and Islamabad, juggling multiple projects, including pursuing a Master of Moving Image at the University of Sydney. Each step of my journey fuels my dedication to storytelling and the visual arts.
